Jeffrey asked Glynnis Campbell:

I ONCE READ AN INTERVIEW WITH AUTHOR ELMORE LEONARD. HE STATED WORDS TO THE EFFECT THAT HE LEAVES OUT OF HIS MANUSCRIPTS THE PARTS THAT EDITORS LIKE TO REVISE. WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS WHEN YOU LEARN ABOUT SOMEONE HAVING SUCH A WRITING STYLE?

Glynnis Campbell I've heard this quote! It's about self-editing, and it reads "I try to leave out the parts that people skip." It's actually very funny and true for most writers. No author wants to think they're slaving over words that people aren't going to read. Seriously, it's a great way to edit yourself--eliminating stuff that's boring or not helpful to the plot.
