Goodreads asked Michael Phillip Cash:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Michael Phillip Cash Write it down- don't be afraid. Just finish it. Then keep going back and rereading, tweaking, and polishing. I write for myself and find it a fun experience. When I go back and read what I wrote, sometimes I am surprised by what I was feeling. It makes me reexamine what was going on in my life. Don't plan on being the next Fifty Shades of Grey, or Hunger Games, write for yourself. It's easy to self publish, but you have to be prepared for negative reactions. I don't consider myself a writer as much as a guy who spends his evening writing stories. I haven't quit my day job.

Writing is like exercising, the more you do it, the better your skills become.I write because I enjoy it. Get a good editor and make sure before you publish the book has been checked at least twice or three times. When you have a finished product, don't think it will sell itself. Put together a marketing plan using as many sources as possible to get word of your book out there.
