How do you get inspired to write?

Lena Dunham Honestly, it could just be something I see on the street: two grandmas bickering, a kid crying over a busted balloon, a homeless man with a dracula doll, a girl crying into her cell phone-- and suddenly sentences swirl and form, images are built onto images, and I am away in another world. My friends will always know because I go blank and stare off into space and annoy them a whole lot.
