Goodreads asked Liesl Shurtliff:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Liesl Shurtliff I jump ahead to a place where I know what happens, usually an action scene, then work my way back. Or I try to see if maybe there's something in what I've already written that's bringing things to a standstill. Maybe I need to change or add something to get the wheels turning again. Or I take a break. Sometimes writer's block is nothing more than brain fatigue. It's a lot of decision-making and sometimes we need to just rest and let all the wires reconnect. Running also helps.
