Where did you get the idea for your most recent book?

RaeLynn Fry I listen to a podcast called, Writing Excuses (http://www.writingexcuses.com/) hosted by Dan Wells, Howard Tayler, Brandon Sanderson, & Mary Robinette Kowal. It's a great podcast that's only about 15 minutes long. At the end of the podcast, they always give a writing prompt. That writing prompt was something about barcodes (I can't remember it fully). It was also around election season, so the media was ripe with all of the hot topics at the time, health care, the potential loss of the middle class, the evil corporate agendas, etc. It all just clicked.
