Out of the Easy:
Is it supposed to be a secret if Josie is black or white? I can't find the answer anywhere. Just curious because it affects the cultural landscape of the times.
Maybe the author purposely left it open-ended?

The book cover appears to be as white girl. But I agree with your question. Had the same thoughts while reading.
