My first foray into writing came in high school just after my brother was killed. Writing was a means of therapy- I could be anything or anyone I wanted to be if I inserted myself into the stories. It was a means of escape. Now I have children. They love my stories and often have suggestions for plot ideas, character descriptions, etc. It's a family project now and keeps us close now that they're grown.
