Goodreads asked Christine Rose:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Christine Rose Write for yourself, for your own pleasure and sense of accomplishment, not for what happens after the book's release. Manage your expectations with the realities of a flooded market and the difficult truths for any author,
Especially independent ones. It's virtually impossible to be seen enough to make a living from book sales unless you have a humongous platform. It's a numbers game, and with over 2000 books released every day, readers are overwhelmed. So write! Enjoy the process! Feel the pride of holding your creation in your hands. That's the success. Please don't make the mistake I did 15 years ago when I started down this path and base your sense of success on sales. It's a recipe for burnout.
