The House of Eve is ostensibly the story of two women, but really it's about multiple women: Ruby and Eleanor, their mothers, Ruby's aunt Marie, Mrs. Porter. What do you think is important about that ensemble cast?

So many of the Black women on TV look the same--they all act the same. In The House of Eve, we have different colors, different classes, different socioeconomic backgrounds. I think all these different Black characters in this story creates the melting pot. There's all these different versions of our story that are being told.

All I can say is WOW - Yellow Wife blew me away and I had never read such a book where the female character was as strong as Pheby Brown. Thank you for writing the epilogue and it was so helpful to hear her strong relationship with Hester and what her sacrifices made. You books are all over the place in times/ settings. Do you feel you will write another book on southern/plantation/slavery issues?

Hi, Sadeqa. The Yellow Wife was one of the best books I read last year and possibly the best I’ve ever read on Slavery. You did an outstanding job. My question is: ‘Where the Bad Girls Go’, is this a new novel coming out? or was that an older book that got published under a different name. Really looking forward to reading your next book.
