I just finished this book and I had the same question. It seems as though this might have been an error. How could both Evelyn and Maggie have married brothers with no children that they were both very close with?

I asked myself the same question! Just read the last 50 pages and stopped to reread Evelyn's parts at the beginning. I couldn't find it so I came here. I'm fairly certain she also said he was a doctor. It seems the brothers got mixed up or something?

Yes. Evelyn wanted her brother Jack to adopt her baby.

I was also confused about this part. The description about having a brother was supposedly from the real Evelyn’s POV, right? Or did I miss something?
