Where do you get your ideas from? Which writers inspire you?

Elizabeth George My ideas come from any number of sources: newspapers featuring crime stories, locations in England where I wish to set a novel, social situations that I wish to examine, etc. My most admired writer is the late John LeCarre. When I look at his growth as a writer from his earliest works to his later works, I can't help being inspired to keep on writing.
