How do you get inspired to write?

Curtis Edmonds This happened just last week, so here goes. It was four in the morning. I could not sleep. My legs were sore so I decided to get out of bed and get in the bathtub and soak them for a while. So I'm sitting there, in the bathtub, playing dominoes on my iPhone, and waiting for my calf muscles to stop aching. I am not thinking about writing or anything in this world that's a hundred miles close to writing. All I want is for my body to stop hurting and then... the entire third act of my next novel just falls into place, right there, in my brain, without me having to think hard about it. Just. Like. That.

I do not know how these things happen, but I am grateful to whoever it is that does.
