Most people from Texas cities (myself included) don't have much of an accent at all. People in Austin where Will is from, generally speaking, have no discernible accent, so I doubt Will does. In any case, the rural Texas 'twang' is different than what most people think of as a 'Southern accent' and it varies greatly in different parts of the state.

Dear Rick. I was wondering if there's any other world mythology you are interested in one day telling a story with such as Native american, Chinese or Japanese mythology. No pressure to be definite but do any of these pique your interest? PS Big fan of your work and love the detail you put into the characters from mythology and appreciate the research you do to make an excellent coherent story. Keep it up.
