Willow asked Robin Stevens:

Hi Robin! I've loved your books ever since I was young, and I almost grew up with Daisy and Hazel. I identify a lot with Hazel- I'm often called the 'Watson' of my friend group! I love writing, and am an aspiring author. How do you plan out your mystery novels, and come up with clues/alibis? I often struggle to add in things like that- I tend to focus on the overall story. Thank you so much for writing this series!

Robin Stevens Hi Willow, this is wonderful to hear - thank you! I'm so glad you're writing too, and you want to be published! The key is to plan out the crime really carefully - it'll help you think about questions like alibis and clues if you know exactly where everyone was at the time of the crime, and what they were doing. You can also add in extra clues in the second or third draft - I always do, once I have the basic shape of the story down. Good luck!!
