Someone please help me understand something. In the beginning, “The day of” Dec 7, 2018, in Olivia’s perspective she receives the call from Asher saying Lily is dead. The next chapter, in Lilys perspective, “The day of” also Dec 7, 2018. Lily leaves Asher after the whole thing with her dad…then it says “FIVE DAYS LATER…” how? If that was the day of????

As you know, Lily's perspective starts on December 7 and then goes backward in time to earlier dates. The whole thing with Lily's dad takes place on December 2. One knows this because, on p.40 of the large print edition, Lily indicates Asher's surprise is happening early, 23 days before Christmas. The FIVE DAYS LATER, then becomes December 7.
