My answer to this question is always "the one I'm writing." That's when the story is just "mine," just playing out in my head, throwing me curveballs and revealing new things about the characters. Writing--for me, at least--is all about discovering, and there's something almost magical about the process.
So right now, the answer is "book 4" because that's what I'm writing. I can't wait to dive back in this morning and see what happens!
