why do so many think this book is about David Copperfield? I se it follows the narrative structure of David Copperfield, but not having read that book in years, I don't understand what that means. Can someone explain to me?

The author gives David Copperfield a nod with the names, but events don't specifically correspond except in the most general ways. Many, like me, agree that it is its own story & way too much is being made of comparisons.(less)
