I believe the only reason Asher’s fingerprints were discovered was because his prints were already on file for his background check for hickey coaching. Otherwise his prints would have been as unknown as Maya’s and they would have had to do the thorough investigation they missed out on doing because they jumped to conclusions.

They would have found both Asher's and Maya's fingerprints.
Maya wasn't questioned because they didn't know she'd been there that day and as a friend it wouldn't have been weird to find her fingerprints on Lily's stuff.

Lily and Maya were friends and only Asher lied about being in her room. Maya probably said she had been there a lot of times so her DNA would certainly be found there. And on the cell phone too.
