I love that you have become involved with the Disney+ show. What has the transition been like from writing books to writing scripts?
Rick Riordan
It's very, very different. Script writing is more of a team sport, at least the script-writing that I have been part of so far. Everything you will see is something created by many different minds working together and doing their best to translate the story to screen. I am definitely part of the team, but I cannot take full credit for anything we are writing. I've had a lot of help and learned a lot, but I'm still learning. For example, if you have a character say three sentences in a book, it doesn't feel very long, usually. If you ask a character to say three sentences in a script, it can feel like a huge speech, so you have to pick and choose lines with care! It's been very much like learning another language, which is a challenge I enjoy.

Hi Mr. Riordan, my brother and I are your biggest fans and we had a question. Why where Achilles and Odysseus not mentioned in Percy Jackson's Greek Heroes? Also, I would be honored if you could please check out my blog. I read 1000 pages a week every week and then I blog about it. And btw I am proud to say your books are greatly represented. Please look at it! 1000pagesaweek.blogspot.com Thank you so much! Aliza

Hi, Rick! I'm a huge fan, your books are what got me obsessed with reading! So I have a few questions mostly about Will and Nico's(love them) accents. Does Nico have an Italian accent because it's his native language? Or does he speak more like an American because he has spent most of his life in the States? Also, I've heard Will is from Texas, which I guess I missed somehow? Does Will have a southern accent? Thanks!!
