What does "So it goes" mean? The narrator seems to say that every time someone dies, so I was wondering what it meant.

"And so on" always seemed to be his saying to me, since it's a phrase he uses in basically every chapter of each of his books. "So it goes," in comparison to "and so on" is rarely ever used in any of his books. (less)
