Have classic horror authors such as Lovecraft or Poe ever inspired your work?

I do enjoy Poe. I have a collection of his work, but I almost prefer his poems to his stories. I'm sure he has influenced my work at some point, but I wouldn't name him as a primary or a strong influence. I did really like his story about that obsession with the evil horse. As for Lovecraft, I am greatly inspired by writers who have been inspired by him, but have never read him myself. So yes, but in a six degrees of Kevin Bacon way.
