I'd go with something like Catch-22, highly entertaining, absurdist and filled with black humor.
Christine
Jonathan Swift's A Modest Proposal. :)
Bug!
Don Quixote--though it's about a million times longer.
Dr Janice Flux
Gulliver's Travels.
Leslie
Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore, or other works by the same author. Also Straight Man by Richard Russo.
Kay Iscah
Utopia by Thomas More. A little gentler and less of an adventure, but I found it funny with similar bite.
Cynthia
I heartily second Gulliver's Travels. Kurt Vonnegut would be my modern rec.
Tyler Ciokiewicz
Don Quixote, you will not regret it. It's long but so full of satire and wit, I was laughing my head off during most of it. Great read, also a classic.
Matthew Bargas
Moliere's Misanthrope
Marcelo Turchetti
Look for an italian writer called Pitigrilli... He's the best and his books are all great!!
Kay
Anything by Robert Coover, whose lit style is strongly influenced by this genre.
Aaron Chrusniak
i highly recommend Based on a True Story--Norm Macdonald's book
Jon Gill
Kurt Vonnegut for sure. Jonathan Swift is good and often sharp, but often tied too much to his time (like late-night comedians are to theirs).
Djakhongir
don quixote by Miguel de Cervantes
Linda
The hundred year old man who climbed out of the Window and dissapered.

Kim, was it the farce that you loved? The travel? The comedy? The down to earth absolutely correct political satements? Or the hateful anti-Judaism on display, which ruined the book for me. If anything, I enjoyed the travel dimension the most, and may I recommend "Around the World in 80 Days with Micheal Palin"?
Katherine Smith
The Life of Lazarillo de Tormes and Wonderful Fool by Shusaku Endo
Andre EWERT
allexcited69, an author who is hiding a political message in Erotica
Sam
