I was totally immersed in the story from the beginning. I think the description, for those who are not in to romantic love stories, does not do the book complete justice. Unconventional, definitely. It is romantic and beautiful, but not romance at all! (for my friend who doesn't get into romance novels) I was really impressed with the depth and insight in this story. If you like Octavia Butler, you will like this one too.(less)
