I remember reading(I think it was in one of your newsletters) that dungeons(as we think of them) are the stuff of movies and not where prisoners were actually held. Can you think of something that you learned during research for one of your books that was a case where the reality was so much different then the general perception?

Glynnis Campbell The biggest myth I've discovered over years of research is that women were powerless in the Middle Ages. That perception persists because most medieval history was written by Christian monks, who wanted it that way. But if you dig deeper into personal records, you find female merchants, craftswomen, and even landholders who commanded wealth and respect!
