I get a little fed up with people who say you have to take "creative writing" to be a writer. No, you don't. What I would instead suggest is read a wide variety of genres and writing styles and find your own voice and your way of telling a story. I don't buy the cookie-cutter approach to writing. Write with all your heart and it work hard.
