Goodreads asked Christopher DeFilippis:

What’s your advice for aspiring writers?

Christopher DeFilippis Keep a realistic perspective on it all. Don't ever count on your writing to make a living. Get a day job and set yourself up with some security and enjoy your life a little. The writing needs to be its own reward. Be diligent, develop your craft and produce work that you can be proud of. If you (a) sell it and (b) it finds readers, then you can just have that many more blessings to count. But writing owes you nothing.
