I don't know what's going on in the real world, what's going in the cyber world (Sprawl?), what characters are real people, which ones are AI, which ones are previously dead, but now re-purposed...

Also, I was beginning to feel left out, like the book was for some younger, slicker, cyber savvy in-group.

Maybe it's worth finishing and re-reading, but I borrowed it from the local Library, currently under pandemic constraints. It takes a while for the library to let you know (email) that they have your requested books, and then several days to schedule an appointment for pick-up. I just got 2 other books in. Not sure now whether to renew or return.(less)
