Goodreads asked Damien Francis:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Damien Francis I often deal with writer's block in two different ways. The first way is by jumping ship from what I am currently working on to work on something else. If I'm writing my main novel and I find myself stuck, I'll stop and work on another story idea. This usually clears my head and I can return to my main novel without an issue.
The other way is to just grit my teeth and write through it. This usually involves lots of deletes and edits, but I refuse to give up and keep pressing forward. Once I'm out of the block I return to those parts and re-write them when I'm in a better headspace.
