Almost all of the technology portrayed in the book actually exists. However, the tech in the book is often much more efficient than its real-world equivalents.

Are you as smart the main character in real life? And have you ever had the experience of someone challenging you over the accuracy the "science" in the book? I personally don't know one way or the other, but I image there would be someone out there who would take the time to check your facts. Great book either way!
