Write and keeping writing. Find people (who don't love you) to read your work. Listen very carefully to everything they say and don't say and use it to improve your skills. I don't mean that you should follow other peoples' writing advice (which may be wrong in some cases) or write how other people want you to write. I mean listen to what your readers are feeling and experiencing as they are reading your work, then figure out ways to make your writing better. Keep writing.
