This has very mixed reviews, but from what I understand there is a new version: "... now newly revised, edited with additional content, and available on audio for the first time." (https://www.chirpbooks.com/audiobooks/the-atlas-six-by-olivie-blake) If this one has been through a proper editor, is it less frustrating to read? Has anybody read/listened to it?

I just finished the audiobook. I have never read the indie version, so it's hard to say if it's an improvement or not but I found this book be absolutely insufferable. The sheer level of internal dialogue and lack of action bored me to death. The writing is pretentious AF and tries to hide the meandering plot (what little plot there is). I wish the author had worked more on plot movement and world building because this book seems like a random series of events with no true point. I love complex books, DGMW, but this was not for me. I guess Amazon prime is picking up the show rights, so I recommend waiting for that.
