Hello Kathleen! I have read your amazing Stanje series a NUMBER of times, so many times I can’t keep count haha, and I was wondering what gave you the inspiration for this story? As an aspiring writer myself I always wonder where authors come up with their amazing ideas! Thank you so much!

Hi Tessa! I'm so happy you enjoy the Stranje House novels. And what fun that you love to write, too!
Every writer garners their inspiration from different sources. I'm curious where yours comes from?
For me it comes from my life experiences and from observing the lives of people around me, and also from dreams. Yep, dreams. Sometimes I dream a scene and just have to write a book around that scene. Sometimes I dream a book almost fully formed.
The Stranje House series, though, had a different beginning.
My ten-year-old nephew, Ethan, (for whom Captain Grey is named after) told me I should write a book where kids were being trained to be magician's apprentices. He was reading a fabulous series like that written for boys. He got me thinking about a more realistic spy school for girls set in Jane Austen's era where, in reality, a terrible war was raging with Napoleon. That war that took the lives of more than 2 million people, yet it is hardly mentioned in Austen's books.
Thus Stranje House was born.

Hi Mrs. Baldwin! I am a HUGE fan of the Stranje House series!! While Georgiana is my favorite character, I have really enjoyed reading from the other point of views present in the series. Do you have a character whose point of view was easiest to write through or most enjoyable? I was also wondering if we would get anymore scenes/books from Georgie's point of view. Thank you!
