Lark Ascending:
I assume that since, as I see in some of the reviews, the POV character is an old man retelling events of his youth, that the dog who becomes his companion has died by the time of said re-telling, but before I read this book, I need to know: does the dog survive the events being retold?

I had to jump to the end of the book before I got too invested. The dog dies of old age - Lark is with him until the end.
