The newer versions of books 2-7 have an intro by Slaughter where she talks about when / how Will Trent was formed. She also duscusses the need to make Sara fallable--she is not without her flaws. And any time Lena is involved, Sara can't see straight. She rises above the bs so often, particularly where Will is involved and she needs to be the emotionally intelligent person who steps up, but whenever Lena is involved, it triggers Jeffrey's death all over again (particularly with Jarrod in a coma). It is easy to see how Lena's words cut her and the betrayal she feels by Will. Plus, Faith warns him multiple times to tell Sara for just this reason. I think Sara's behavior exemplifies a 3-dimensional character.

I’ve read all the Will Tent books and know Sara’s story. But this is the first time I’ve felt she was kinda unhinged. But after I thought about it at the time she had her freak out her emotions were at an all time high and coming from every which way. An Will being clueless and and as always way too hard on himself totally fed her emotions. Although she really was a brat I feel like I’ll give her a pass.

The other books do explain what is going on. Like you though I did t really understand some of the anger. He is a cop Lena is cop it makes sense that she would know before Sara.
