I just finished reading Dreamer's Pool (it was awesome, of course) and I noticed that the dog in your profile picture is exactly what I was picturing in my head while reading. Did you have a specific dog in mind while writing?

What a great question! No, I didn't have Harry in mind - I saw Bramble as more of a spindly little terrier, cross between a maltese and a chihuahua, with big ears. Harry's a bit too sturdy! But as with human characters, they look however each reader wants them to look. :)

Hi Mrs. Marillier! :) I loved your Sevenwaters and Blackthorn & Grim series so much that you have inspired me to write my own historical fantasy. I just want your opinion, as a reader, does combining too many references oversaturate my plot/make it unoriginal, even if I make connect them well? It combines the black death, astral projection, Celtic references, Arthurian lore, and references the song "Scarborough Fair".

Hello, like everyone who posts here I am a big fan of your books and have them all. I notice on your bio that you are a member of a druid order OBOD - that sounds absolutely fascinating, can you tell me what this order does? I live near Canberra in NSW, I am sure they don't have anything like that near here although I have discovered recently that there is a Freemason order (and one for women).
