Goodreads asked Johanna Rae:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Johanna Rae Sometimes, I 'think' I have writer's block. Nine times out of ten, I'm wrong. I often find the problem is that I'm working on the wrong project, or perhaps I have the wrong music playing. I have a separate playlist for every character who has a voice in any of my books. If I've got the wrong one playing, the words won't come. My characters are sneaky that way. I've also noticed it pays to listen to the voice who screams the loudest. I don't get to choose which project I work on, I have to let inspiration guide me. I also need copious amounts of coffee. That's a given. If I choose to pay attention to these things, writer's block almost never occurs.
