Tasos asked Brian Staveley:

Love the books! A couple of questions: Have you heard the audiobook version of the novel? If you have, curious about how it feels to hear hour thoughts spoken out loud And, is there anything you wish you had done differently in the first book of the trilogy? Small or big Thanks and can't wait for the rest of the books

Brian Staveley Thanks for the questions, Tasos. I have, in fact, heard the audio of The Emperor's Blades, although not the entire thing. I think Simon Vance (the narrator) does an outstanding job. The thing about listening to the words aloud, at least for me, is noticing the weak spots in the prose. Little infelicities that I (or most readers) would skim right past on the printed page stand out all the more when spoken. It's one of the reasons I'm always muttering my sentences aloud to myself as a I write.

I do wish Adare had a larger role in Book One, but as I've mentioned other places before, I think that issue is resolved in the second and third books.

Looking forward to hearing what you make of The Providence of Fire!
