K.D.! I love the series as I am sure many of us do! So knowing that the series is 9 books long (which thank god cause if ended at a trilogy I would be devasted). I noticed that book 1 was pubbed in 2018, book 2 quickly followed in 2019, and then book 3 had a 3 year gap to 2022. I assume bc of COVID as it is mentioned in book 3. However, can you give us an anticipated timeline for book 4 and beyond?
K.D. Edwards
COVID definitely played a part in the delay of book 3 -- but so did the content. It was just so much heavier than the first two books. It was my "Book of Secrets."
Book 4, THE MISFIT CARAVAN, is likely to have as much as an 18-month gap between publications (and I'll push for less!), but there will also be a substantive "expansion novella" in between. (I've talked elsewhere about how I was asked to keep the page count of THT to a certain number, which made me have to cut a huge secondary plot. That plot -- the story of what the kids went through as Lady Jade's captive -- is being written right now, and should be published in late 2022/early 2023.)
After that, I plan on sticking to a novel-a-year. If Book 3 was the "One filled with Secrets", Book 4 is what I consider the "One with all the jokes." There is a lot of humor and healing in it. (Though I retain the rights to throw all the curve balls in the world at the final third of it.....)
And, as always, I'll continue to drop little snippets and stories along the way. My website has an extra content page with about a novel's worth of stories; and I even just posted a tiny snipper scene on Twitter yesterday.
Thanks for reading! I promise, I have a huge story left to tell. I cannot wait to introduce some long-anticipated characters in the next trilogy like Dalton, Amelia, Lady Moon, Lord Devil, Tavis... Rune's story is barely beginning.

Loved and absolutely adored the books! So happy you're planning for 9 in total. Just... can we get a little more updates on progress? Nothing big or specific but I always like to know that the next book is in progress and when can I expect it (even if just to put in in my "to read" shelf). Thank you so much for your work!

Cheating, as this is not a '?'. I discovered your books recently, and devoured them all at an alarming speed. I'm blown away by your creativity and the way you have developed such rich story lines, characters and familiar dynamics in a fascinating space. I am really looking forward to reading more of your writing in the future, it is truly something else. Thanks for putting something so damn cool out into the world.

I've just finished 'The Hourglass Throne' via Audible, only took me 4 or 5 days, curse sleeping and work. LOVED IT. Now, not that I mind actual reading and will at some point get round to reading the novellas, but I see them listed on audible but showing up blank if you get my meaning. Will they be added at some point? Would love to have the collection in one place.
