Traci I have and I fell in love with it right away! My favorite season will always be season 1, but I loved the other two seasons and the bonus Season Zero, as well as the little extras that went along with it. I'm looking forward to the movie that they're making for it, as well. It's nothing like the book, but I think I enjoyed it so much because I went into it figuring it wouldn't be so I was able to view as its own thing that was inspired by an awesome book.
m.j. Yes! Vervegirl TV's web series on Youtube is what influenced me to read this short book. While the show is very loosely based off the original story, I enjoyed both. Be forewarned, however, that the end of this book is NOT anything remotely like the show's happy ending. If you choose to read it, even if you've seen that delightful show, try to come in with as few assumptions and expectations as possible. It's a haunting story, and my mind is still reeling from it.
pin.nushka what is the name of the series
Zingari They just read the book at KindaTV on YouTube if you'd rather listen to the two lead actresses of the web-series. I didn't know when I'd get around to getting this novella, so listening in helped and was pretty entertaining.
Sarah Rodden It's incredible! I want to read the book BECAUSE of the series!
Tanz the Fluorescent Adolescent My friend recommended the web series and I couldn't get through it because of the crappiest acting I've ever had the displeasure of witnessing. I think I've read this before though I'm not sure. From what I recall, this was meant to be an unsubtle warning against possible lesbianism, obviously linking it to evil (because apparently lady-loving is awfully devilish...).
Sydnee yes, the series is actually the reason I was drawn to this book.
Margaret I tried. Modern setting, extremely cheap, shot in digital camera, without any Gothic atmosphere of the novella, which is quite good.
Kit Yeah,it's amazing! It's what got me back into reading
B. Alexandra Escribano oh god yes. Actually, the serie influenced me to read this ! Also, the serie is pretty amazing, much better than the book but of course , the webserie is way more different than the book.
Denise E. Oh my god yes! Currently devouring the whole series. It's not much like the book as I recall but super cute.
Macklin Yep! It is awesome!
Rolain Yep, I watched it first before reading the novella. I had mixed feelings though. After reading it, I had so many questions in mind like, "Who was Carmilla's so called 'mamma'?" and the ending. I want more! Le Fanu kept me hanging in there. Where was Carmilla? Where did she went? What did she do? Haha! I'd like to think Carmilla's still alive & just lurking around. It's the 20th century, duh. Sometimes, I can't get my thinking straight. Fiction & Reality. My mind's in between. Well, I really enjoyed it. I think I'll start digging into Le Fanu's works & let's just see. Hmm.
Jessica To clarify, yes I watched it, and I completely adored it! That's why I am currently reading the book!
Storm Yes! It's very good for such a low budget production. Great cast, good writing, I definitely recommend it!
Kirsi A bit; I didn´t like it. However, I enjoyed Blood and roses, The vampire lovers, and 1989 TV Carmilla.
Beany Yes! I loved it so much, there's going to be a season 2!
