The cover is actually quite clever as it's a representation of Agnus Dei - Lamb of God representing Jesus based on the John the Baptist saying 'behold the Lamb of God, who takes away the sins of the World'. in the Catholic tradition. It relates heavily to many religious aspects in Moshfegh's story especially the possibly 'virgin pregnancy' that the reader knows is far from that.

I personally think the cover is great- fits the novel really well. I like the art, it's morose though the lamb looks a bit cute even... however I guess you could take the dust jacket off the hardcover? Read an e-book where you don't really see the cover? Wait for a new edition that might have a different cover? If you like this author it's worth reading!

Don't worry about the cover...it's not a "good book" anyway, best to just skip this one.

The cover is what intrigued me about it actually.

i like the cover. but does it really matter that much to you? read it on kindle or listen on audible maybe, then you won't have to really see it.
