Goodreads asked Jim Hodgson:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Jim Hodgson I don't believe in writer's block, but I do believe in what I call the artist's disease. I think if you're serious about something, you do it. You finish work, and you release it. This is my chosen work.

If I'd chosen welding, no one would let me walk around saying I have welding block.

That said, I have heard a much more experienced writer than myself, Peter Straub, say he had a similar position on writer's block until he got it himself: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pjz0A...

So, I reserve the right to reverse my position later.
