Congratulations on publishing a great book, hopefully it will be made into movie soon much to reader's delight. It seems that research of deep space survival for your book has been done with great care, how well are you versed in space travel and cosmonautics?

Andy Weir It's been a lifelong hobby of mine. Though writing The Martian took a lot of additional research and math. :)

I understand that you originally published The Martian serially on your blog, which was useful for getting feedback and refining the story and the math. Do you think that's something more fiction writers should employ? Or is it unique to The Martian in some way?
