Hi Guys! Loved this book from start to finish! The ending is open ended. Do you hope (like me) that Sam & Sadie finally get their HEA together while working on their next game?

I loved this book too, but the last thing I wanted for Sam & Sadie was a HEA ending! How trite that would be compared to the higher level of relationship they had together. Remember at the end when Sadie says to Sam, "lovers are common, true collaborators are rare."
Tara
I think their HEA is working on their next game. I don't see a romance for them.
Estelle
I do not hope they will end up together romantically, which is one of my favorite things about this book. I think their happy ending is the understanding they reach about the importance of their friendship.

I'd rather see her die of dysentry.

No. I don't think either of them ever had romantic feelings for each other. Sam thought he did, but I think what he truly felt was a intense desire for closeness, not an actual romantic relationship with Sadie.

I also wished for a HEA for Sam & Sadie, and in some ways, I believe we got one. They are working at repairing their bond. And I believe once their friendship has mended that they will end up romantically involved. Just as Sadie did with Marx, as friends but out of curiosity for the other. Otherwise, what was the point in Marx dying? I think it was fate allowing them to eventually become each other's counterpart. If Sadie didn’t view Sam as the catalyst for her and Dov’a tumultuous relationship, I think things would have naturally gone down that path sooner, but because of Sadie’s resentment and pride, she created a wedge between her and Sam that changed her course. Sadie herself admitted that she thought of Sam in that way sometimes. But healing, closeness and trust need to happen first.
