I was wondering, since my writing is my hobby, and you had great ideas for books so far. I was wondering if you could tell me advice or how you got to where you are today? I'm not good at writing but I know practice will help me perfect it.

I read all the Newbery award-winning books at my local library, and I read books about writing. I took classes. I joined critique groups. And I wrote, wrote, wrote!

I loved your books when I was younger (and still do now!)! I wanted to thank you for writing your books; they, along with other wonderful books by other wonderful authors, really encouraged me to pursue my passion for writing, even if not as a "successful" career (to me, novel-writing, regardless of public opinion, is success). Many thanks from the girl who used to read in class!! Any advice for potential writers?
