Marcia
Marcia asked:

Would you suggest reading "Go Ask Alice" before reading this story?

N Marie Madison You might just listen to You're Wrong About Book Club over the book - it serves as a wonderful introduction to the book. https://open.spotify.com/episode/67Tr...
TJL The author recaps the most important and relevant points of "Go Ask Alice", so I wouldn't say it's necessary if you're trying to keep track of what he's talking about.
Katie I concur about listening to the Worst Bestsellers episodes on Alice and Jay, and also the Teen Creeps episode on Go Ask Alice, for full immersion and enjoyment!
Trudy Nope, I just had the sort of general cultural awareness most people have of Go Ask Alice without ever having read it (I had also listened to the You're Wrong About episodes on it that someone else mentioned here, and also Worst Bestsellers episodes on both Alice and Jay's Journal) and that was plenty. This book itself tells you as much as you need to know about what's in both the Alice and Jay books to fully understand the story.
C.G. Twiles I had not and did not find it necessary, though certainly it would add a layer of understanding.
Carolyn To be honest, I wouldn't recommend reading either book. Just skip both and find something more enjoyable to read. See my review. In my opinion: this guy is as much of a fraud as Sparks.
