My college professor used to say, "Writer's block is a reader's block." He was a craft of poetry professor, but I think it's true in prose as well.
Personally for me, if I'm having a difficult time writing, it's because either I didn't do the research I was supposed to, or my plot is not working and I've taken a wrong turn somewhere. I don't force plot on characters, and allow them to take their natural arc. So if they're having a fit, I have to rework the story.
