Goodreads asked Yvette Prior:

How do you deal with writer’s block?

Yvette Prior While writer's block is not the same for everyone, and it can take on many forms - from hitting a wall to feeling like you have cement in the shoes - there are three things that help me deal with writer's block: 1) Get outside for at least two hours. This could involve taking a walk or short hike, doing a little gardening, or going to a park. This offers some mental and physical refreshment. 2) Make an outline and get some writing started. This can eventually lead you back to the area that felt stagnant and might bring flow that way. 3) Read material that is unrelated to th topic that feels blocked - or watch a movie that offers different content from what you are working on. This could allow some decompression that allows some writing flow to return.
