My 12 year old (mature for her age mentally) really enjoyed this book.

Teens and up. I gave the book these movie-style "MPA ratings":
PG-13 for language and sex references
PG for rude humor and tobacco depictions
PG-13 for language and sex references
PG for rude humor and tobacco depictions

The youngest characters in this book are in their 30's, & there's a lot of "old people" content, so can't see it appealing to anyone but mature adults.
Amelia
This book is probably most interesting to adults as most of the characters are older adults. The reading level would be appropriate for a teen, and there isn't any sex or violence.
Chris Eldridge
This is not a children's book, if that's what you're wondering. If you're an adult with a sense of humor and an appreciation for human foibles and the beauty and intelligence of the animal kingdom, including sea life, then you may well enjoy this wonderful story.
