Graphic novels convey information (1) visually and (2) sequentially.

Simply put, certain types of information are most easily communicated through comics. (For example, Lego instructions)

My son, 6, and my daughter, 8, are huge fans of your secret coder series. However, they are becoming anxious as they realize that the story is continuing on without ending. My son asked me to look you up to find out how old you are to make sure you will live to be able to finish the story. Do you have a sense of the length of this story arc?

A small group just worked with it, and I saw what I have always seen: students from a range of immigrant backgrounds -- this time Latino, Eastern European and Middle Eastern -- all strongly relate to the identity issues in the text. How has it felt to see this book resonate so strongly across ethnic groups, and did you anticipate this?
