One of the best things, at this point in my career, would be having a say. Writing (even fiction) allows me to rant about whichever topic drew my righteous stink-eye. No one interrupts, I just hammer away, righting (writing) whatever wrong I feel has been done, and righting (writing) it through a plot of redemption, challenge, heroic journey, or tragedy.
